Romance, thrill, suspense, or animation – with so much on the platter, it is apparent that keeping track of every release is challenging. So, here is my list mentioning all the Apple TV+ releases aligned for you.   

FYI, all the titles in this list are in sync with Apple updates and announcements. No room for fake news! So, let’s quickly dive in!

What’s new on Apple TV+ this month (May 2024)

1. Acapulco – Season 3

Acapulco Season 3 is an Apple Original comedy series gearing up to tickle your bones. In this upcoming season, it’s time to unfold new beginnings and ponder upon past mistakes. The present story will see Derbez returning to a Las Colinas that he won’t recognize.   

On the other hand, in 1985, Arrizon kept winning his battles with the same cruelty. With powerful twists and turns, a stunning star cast, and a complicated plot, the third season won’t leave you disheartened.

2. Dark Matter

Blake Crouch’s bestselling book Dark Matter sees itself being adapted into a live-action, nine-episode thriller on Apple TV+. The show already has some high expectations set for it, as Dark Matter has been hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade. 

The series will follow the life of Jason Dessen, a family man, physicist, and professor, who gets abducted into an alternate version of his life. As he tries to make his way back into his reality, he’ll have to deal with many decisions that he’s made in the multiverse. This complicated plot tasks Dessen with saving his real family from one of the most formidable foes ever – himself.

3. Hollywood Con Queen

This documentary is based on one of the biggest scams in Hollywood history. A woman impersonating popular executives swindled money out of Hollywood aspirants by luring them to work on fake projects in Indonesia.

The three-part docu-series shows how Scott Johnson of The Hollywood Reporter and a private investigator named Nicole Kotsianas discovered the truth.

4. The Big Cigar

Movies such as “Catch Me If You Can” have often left us rooting for the charismatic lead, escaping authority in the most ingenious of ways. If you’re fond of shows and movies such as these, you might want to keep an eye on The Big Cigar. The show will tell the story of Huey P. Newton, the leader of Black Panther, and how he escapes the FBI’s nationwide manhunt to exile himself in Cuba.

The show will have six episodes, and Apple has finally given us a release date for the first two episodes – May 17. After that, new episodes will be released every Friday.

On a side note, Apple TV+ press release calls the story “extraordinary, hilarious, almost too good to be true.”

5. Trying – Season 4

Their happy nuclear family shatters when their dearest daughter longs for a connection with her birth mother. Throughout the series, the viewers will see Nikki and Jason amid the harsh reality of parenting, relationships, and family.

1. Presumed Innocent

As part of the plot, Presumed Innocent showcases a nerve-curdling murder that takes the city by storm.  

The story gets even more engrossing when one of the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office members gets suspected of the crime. Enjoy a roller-coaster ride of emotions, power, lust, and relationships as the accused fights to prove his innocence while saving his family and marriage.

2. Breads & Roses

This documentary follows the story of what happened to women in Afghanistan after the Taliban took over Kabul in 2021.

Backed by two of the most influential women on the planet, Jennifer Lawrence and Malala Yousafzai, the film got a great reception at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and is now all set to make its global debut with Apple TV+.

3. Land of Women

The show is expected to be a mini-series comprising only six episodes and will toe the line between comedy and drama.

Land of Women centers around Gala, an empty nester residing in New York City. Gala has to flee New York City with her teenage daughter and aging mother, thanks to her husband’s financial wrongdoings affecting the entire family. Expect the show to carry plenty of laughs and emotional moments!

4. Fancy Dance

The episodes will showcase Jax’s tireless efforts to find her sister and help her niece prepare for a powwow. They decide to go on a road trip to find Roki’s mother before the powwow starts.

5. Sunny

6. Yo Gabba Gabbaland

The show is a reboot of the original “Yo Gabba Gabba,” which was a massive hit on YouTube. If there are some basic learnings you wish to pass on to your kids in an enjoyable manner, you should definitely put this on!

7. Fly Me to the Moon

The story gets gripping when the White House deems the mission something they couldn’t afford to fail, and Johansson’s character is forced to stage a fake landing. A bit of history and a lot of tension drive the narrative.

8. The Instigators

We have seen a lot of such movies, but the twist in this tale is that they are on the run, thanks to some unexpected help from one of their therapists. Now, that’s a perfect mix for some bone-tickling comedy. And with Matt Damon in the line-up, you can definitely expect some adrenaline-pumping action!

However, from his heart, he only wants to watch soap operas alone and contemplate his place in the universe.
